JeongHun Han

Hello folks, welcome to JeongHun’s home page. I am a graduate student of the Political Science Department at the University of Rochester. I am studying West European Party Politics and use advanced methodological skills to empirically test the theoretical expectations in this field.

In particular, I have interests in political representation through parties in the European Parliament, and the role of other European institutions such as the European Council of Ministers, European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Communities.

I applied a Bayesian method of ideal point estimation to the roll calls of the EP and have the data of the estimated ideal points of the members of the European Parliament. Anyone interested in the data, please feel free to send me an email of your interest.

I also have two coauthored projects concerning the political representation in Europe. One is to analyze the party influence on the legislative voting behavior of members of the European Parliament with Professor Simon Hix, London School of Economics and Political Science. The other is to compare the issue spaces between the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union with Daniel Finke, the German Research Institute for Public Administration.
